Lent Day 9: “Put your Faith into Practice!”

Rev Michael Anokye: 22ND FEBRUARY, THURSDAY

“TAKE ACTION AND PUT YOUR FAITH INTO PRACTICE.”

PRAYER:

Dear God, I pray you reveal any hidden areas in my life. Your Word says:- “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”  (Romans 10:17Click link to read the whole chapter. I understand that without faith, it is impossible to please You. Therefore, I ask You to help me build up my faith today by reading Your Word and acting upon it. Thank You, Father, for the hedge of protection that You provide in response to my faith. Amen.

READING: Matthew 5:19-20 “Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.” Click this link to read the whole chapter:Matthew 5

REFLECTION:

Jesus reminds us that our actions are significant. Simply stating that we believe is not enough. We must also demonstrate our beliefs through our behaviour. God does not judge us according to human standards but based on what is truly in our hearts and actions. We must deal with each other fairly, ensure that everyone receives a fair share of God’s blessings, and forgive each other for our mistakes. We are called to be a blessing to others and to promote peace instead of confusion. As we observe Lent, let us reflect on how we can put our faith into action daily.

LET US PRAY:

Dear Father God, I ask you to open my eyes so I may see the world more clearly and see You in everything. Please help me recognize your work around me and within me. I pray that You allow me to see Your hand in life’s small and big things. Please help me trust in what I cannot see and believe in Your invisible presence. Thank You for all that You do for me and my family. Amen.

ACTION:

Ask God to reveal an area of your life that has been shaped more by the ways of the world than by His Word.

Have you thought about how a spiritual practice like Lent, prayer, or fasting could help improve your intimacy with God?

Inviting a family member or friend to join you in church on Sunday could be helpful.

Additionally, consider asking God how you can have an even deeper relationship with Him through participating in a fellowship at the Olive Tree Church.
