Lent Day 8: “Ask, seek, and knock”

Rev Michael Anokye: 21st FEBRUARY, WEDNESDAY

“KEEP ASKING, KEEP SEEKING AND KEEP KNOCKING.”

PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father, I humbly come before you to ask for your guidance and direction in my life and my family. I have faith in your promises and trust that they will come to fruition. As I ask, seek, and knock, I know you will answer, guide, and open doors. Though I may have faltered and hesitated on my journey, I am now ready to embrace your call, seek your face with all my heart, and knock with anticipation and faith. I believe that answers will come. Thank you for your love, mercy, and grace. Amen.

READING: Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

REFLECTION:

Today’s readings remind us of God’s eternal love. God will always be there for us when we are in trouble, distressed or need support. We must reach out to Him, and He will hear our prayers.

While it can be challenging to ask for help, there are times when we all need support. Like the Apostles in the boat when the storm hit, they called out to Jesus, and He answered them. Matthew 8:23-27 says, “The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, ‘Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!’ Jesus responded, ‘Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!’ Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly, there was a great calm.”

When we have Jesus in our lives, we can find peace even amid a storm. So, remember to turn to Him whenever you’re feeling overwhelmed or afraid. He is always ready to help and support you.

LET US PRAY:

Dear Heavenly Father, in Your infinite kindness, You have granted us an open invitation to ask, seek, and knock. With humility and gratitude, I come before Your throne room of grace and lift my beloved friends and family before You. I ask for Your divine protection, wisdom, and guidance in their lives. I trust in Your loving care and know that when I ask, You hear my prayer when I seek, You reveal Yourself, and when I knock, doors open. During this Lenten season, I wholeheartedly embrace Your call and seek Your face with all my being. I knock with anticipation and faith, knowing that You will answer and strengthen my spiritual life. Thank You for Your unwavering love and mercy. Amen.

ACTION:
