Lent Day 22: We WANT MORE OF YOU, LORD

Rev Michael Anokye: LENT 6TH MARCH 2024

I WANT MORE OF YOU, LORD.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, Holy Spirit, anoint my mind, body, and spirit to be holy and bless me to pray without ceasing. Amen.

Reading:

Early in the morning, Jesus woke up and went to a remote location to pray while it was still dark. Simon and his companions searched for him and found him. They informed him that everyone was looking for him. Jesus replied, “Let us go to the nearby towns so that I can preach there as well, for that is the reason I came out.” He travelled throughout Galilee, teaching in synagogues and driving out demons “(Mark 1:35-39).

Reflection:

When we analyze Jesus’ ministry in this verse, we can observe that He faced immense demands on His time because everyone wanted Him to visit their town and speak to them. Nevertheless, we can see that He woke up early in the morning to pray and spend time with the Father. No one was busier than Jesus during His ministry and travels, as He travelled from town to town, spreading the message of the Kingdom of God.

Have you ever wondered how you would react if you saw devils cry and flee during a Sunday morning service? Unfortunately, many churches are still unfamiliar with Jesus’ ministry, and their traditions and teachings bear witness to it. Some sermons may be doctrinally valid, but they lack the power, authority, or anointing to dispel demons or heal diseases.

During the season of Lent, we focus our attention on times when the Kingdom of God is expanding vigorously when the Holy Spirit is at work, when the Word of God is taught with power and authority, and when the church is once again a house of prayer, healing, miracles, signs, and wonders. To walk in this authority, we must follow the example of Jesus.

We should set aside time to pray and seek intimacy with the Lord. We should also seek the anointing of the Holy Spirit so that we can move with love and compassion and operate in miracles, signs, and wonders.

Let us pray:

Dear Lord, I pray for the anointing to pray at all times. I want You to release Your anointing, which can break any bondage in my life or the lives of others. Lord, I ask that you make me a conduit of Your Spirit, allowing me to exercise all spiritual gifts under Your anointing. I want to see healings, miracles, signs, and wonders in Jesus’ name. Amen.
