Lent Day 11: “Give thanks to the Lord . . .”

Rev Michael Anokye: 24th FEBRUARY, SATURDAY

“HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER.”

PRAYER:

Every day is a gift from the Lord; let us be glad and grateful. Let us trust the Lord and rely on His guidance daily. Let us celebrate and recognize the Lord’s presence and blessings daily, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

READING: Psalm 118:1-4 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Let Israel say: “His love endures forever.” Let the house of Aaron say: “His love endures forever.” Let those who fear the Lord say: “His love endures forever.”
(Read the whole beautiful Psalm here)

REFLECTION:

The Psalmist begins this passage with the repeated phrase, “The steadfast love of the Lord endures forever.” The Psalmist invites Israel as a whole, the house of Aaron in particular, and all those who fear the Lord in general to trust and believe in the goodness of God. The Lord has an enduring love that is unshaken, undissolved, and un-depleted. The Lord’s enduring love is present throughout generations, times, and circumstances. Therefore, trusting the Lord is essential because His love is forever!

LET US PRAY:

We thank You, Lord, for You are good; Your love endures forever. Let all of God’s people say, “The love of the Lord lasts forever.” Open the gates of righteousness; we will enter and thank You, our God. This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter. We hear the words of the Psalm, Lord, and we want to enter Your Kingdom with a spirit of praise. Please hear our prayers of praise. Amen.

ACTION:

With every breath, whether it’s when you wake up in the morning or when you lie down to sleep at night, remember that “His mercy endures forever.

Take time today to praise and worship the Lord, for His mercy is everlasting.

Rejoice in it and reflect on how the Lord has been merciful to you and your family continuously.
