Contentment
..for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13

Personally I am feeling quite stretched and a bit scared with cost of living rising. When I was wondering what to write this week, I felt this was a timely word from the Lord for me and maybe you too. So many wonderful things about being a follower of Jesus, like the fact that He never changes no matter what is going on around us. He remains the same. Oh to live in that place of contentment regardless of our circumstances. This is a good time to count your blessings, like the old hymn says ‘Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings, see what God has done. Count your blessings, name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done’.

So, in these financial uncertain times, take a deep breath, do what you can in being wise how you live, stay strong in your faith and trust God to take care of the rest. I can testify I have never been in debt, gone hungry or been homeless or cold. Psalm 94:14 – For the Lord will not forsake his people… Psalm 37:25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread. Proverbs 3:5&6 – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight. God is my help and continues to be good. Psalm 121.
